Lisa Shin is the Communications & Marketing Director at Washington Policy Center. She was born and raised in Washington state. She studied at Seattle University and transferred to the University of Washington, where she majored in political science and communications. During her time at Seattle University, she founded a mentorship program linking students as volunteer chaplains to youth detained in the King County Juvenile Detention Center. She has served as a relief worker both at Ground Zero following the 9-11 attacks and in New Orleans following Hurricane Katrina. Lisa spent six years in the marketing field managing multi-million dollar projects such as the launch of Microsoft’s Bing search engine and the rebranding of Expedia’s Destination Services program. Prior to joining the WPC team, Lisa worked as executive director to the King County Republican Party where she worked on grassroots efforts for local, statewide and federal level candidates, and worked to develop coalition efforts, bridging communities within King County. She devotes much of her free time to humanitarian work and community organizations. She is involved with the Korean American Coalition, King County Cares, Junior League of Seattle and Women of Washington, and serves on the board for the Jennifer Dunn Leadership Institute and as Board President for the Roanoke Conference. Lisa is also a member of the Bellevue Rotary Club and serves on the Environmental Services Commission for the City of Bellevue, where she resides. She also is an avid Seattle sports fan.
