I’m a big fan of Washington Policy Center… one of the few organizations I trust to deliver honest, hard-headed analysis of important issues.

We love being members of the Pillar Society because we enjoy meeting like-minded people. We know our financial support allows Washington Policy Center to hire outstanding personnel whose analyses and studies produce the WPC policy recommendations.

Washington Policy Center is the best way for our family to help preserve the conservative values we believe in.  Washington Policy Center has done a brilliant job of shining a light on the those politicians, school administrators and unions that want to run and tax every element in our society.  We are proud Pillar Society Members.

We are particularly interested in keeping Washington income tax free and supporting charter schools initiatives. The benefits provided to Pillar members was a complete surprise and we had a spectacular time at the Annual Dinner.

We receive more charitable donation requests every year.  Three years ago we decided that donating to a really good cause should help fix the root of the problems needing more money rather than just adding subsidies to a growing list of needs. We decided the one policy group working to solve problems that can reduce the need for donations was the Washington Policy Center.

Now as the fourth generation president of a Seattle company, our very survival seems at risk due to the overreaching passions of a government bent on saving humanity. The Washington Policy Center is one of the best ways I can promote a return to the sanity of former days.

Membership in the Pillar Society of  WPC is a great investment, one we will continue to make. It provides funds for unbiased research, subsequent policy stands and efforts to inform the electorate on issues of utmost importance in our state; issues like putting students first in the matter of education, and addressing the foolishness of a carbon tax and other unneeded tax increases. In addition, as you may know, WPC provides us with prominent guest speakers at events throughout the year. Pillar Society members have the added benefit of question and answer sessions with the speakers and in many cases, even one-on-one conversations with the speakers.

More than ever before, I think it is important to have organizations like WPC that work to maintain what I view as the freedoms expressed in our constitution that seem to be under constant assault by people and organizations that want to change how our state and country are governed.  WPC provides a voice for what I think are important issues but don’t have time to work on myself.

Washington Policy Center is the gold standard for better Washington State policy.  It is my "go-to" source to determine whether recommended policies or laws make sense for the long-term benefit of Washington State residents.  Too often, we only hear one side, the loudest and best-funded side of a policy discussion.  WPC breaks it down so we can hear all sides of significant policy discussions and make up our own minds.

I belong to the Pillar Society because my wife and I believe a long-term, three year, financial commitment gives the Policy Center a better chance to plan their work than relying on annual contributions. We have stopped supporting politicians and now give all those funds to the Policy Center because they get things done that we believe in.

“Our commitment to become members of the Pillar Society was initiated by attending both the Annual Dinner in Spokane, followed the next day by a WPC Spokane breakfast meeting on health care policy. Both of us were “hooked” when we reviewed the health care policy materials. We signed up as Pillar members the same day.

Several days later, we began discussing some of the health care issues facing both the young and old with our two granddaughters. The girls are a senior in high school and a sophomore in college. Both are curious, but not yet confronted with paying for their healthcare coverage. To them, the subject was a “black hole,” getting more confusing by the minute.

Roger Stark, Health Care Policy Analyst, rides to the rescue! We shared some of the salient points of Dr. Stark’s white papers on health care policy.

The papers are clear, concise and inclusive of not only this country’s challenges, but also present a clear view of other countries’ deficiencies.

WPC always does an outstanding job of researching and publishing critical issues affecting the citizens of Washington State. For this we are grateful and proud to support WPC efforts as Pillar Society members.”
