WPC's Eastern Washington Annual Dinner in Spokane a landmark event!
Dr. Charles Krauthammer, General James Mattis wow attendees in Spokane who help WPC celebrate its 20th anniversary.
We celebrated our 20th anniversary with more than 1,100 people in attendance at our 2016 Eastern Washington Annual Dinner at the Davenport Grand Hotel in Spokane. This record-breaking crowd made it our largest event ever for WPC east of the Cascades and one of the largest public policy events in the country. The electric evening featured Pulitzer Prize-winning columnist, Dr. Charles Krauthammer, and honored former commander of United States Central Command, General James N. Mattis, as our 2016 Champion of Freedom recipient.
Dr. Krauthammer shared his analysis of the upcoming presidential election through the lens of his over 40 years of experience working as a political commentator and journalist. We were truly honored as he praised WPC as “one of the most distinguished state think tanks in the country” and commended attendees for supporting our work.
Following his acceptance of our Champion of Freedom award, General Mattis looked back on a 42-year career in the United States Marine Corps, but also commented on how best to protect the country moving forward. To conclude his remarks, the “most revered Marine in a generation” said “America has two powers: inspiration and intimidation. I was a part of intimidation - inspiration is probably more powerful.”
Thank you to everyone who joined us to make our 2016 Annual Dinner event our biggest and best event ever in Eastern Washington to date!

and I commend you for supporting their work."

“We need Washington Policy Center… we need think tanks… to calmly look at things and consider them, and bring forward good ideas because I’ll tell you - they aren’t going to come out of a government that is left to its own devices, this is a democracy for a reason.”
- General James N. Mattis
