70th U.S. Secretary of State and former director of the CIA, Michael R. Pompeo is coming to Bellevue on October 14th to keynote WPC’s 2022 Western Washington Annual Dinner event, and former congresswoman and 2020 Democratic presidential candidate, Tulsi Gabbard will keynote WPC’s 2022 Eastern Washington Annual Dinner event in Spokane on September 16th. The announcements continue a strong tradition of the nation’s top newsmakers and thinkers headlining WPC’s annual dinner events.

“Secretary Pompeo has served this country with distinction as both an observer and a director of world events at the highest levels,” observed WPC Interim President Paul Guppy. “And Congresswoman Gabbard has shown fierce independence standing up to woke culture. Washington Policy Center is thrilled to add these remarkable individuals to our Annual Dinner events.

As U.S. Secretary of State in the Trump Administration, Mr. Pompeo challenged Chinese Communist party actions that threatened American jobs and freedoms. Under Mr. Pompeo’s leadership, real peace in the Middle East was achieved through the work of the Abraham Accords and Mr. Pompeo led a team that executed America's largest-ever global repatriation effort in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic.

“Secretary Pompeo has spent his life in the arena,” Guppy continued. “WPC is proud to add that level of experience and expertise to our speaker lineup. It’s going to be an exciting night.”

Former Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard is a combat veteran with deployments to the Middle East and Africa. She currently serves as a Lieutenant Colonel in the U.S. Army Reserve. She ran for Congress at 31 years old, prevailed in a difficult election and went on to serve for eight years as a member of the Armed Services, Homeland Security, and Foreign Affairs Committees, where she dealt with highly sensitive national security issues. Tulsi Gabbard is the first female combat veteran to ever run for president.

“Congresswoman Gabbard is renowned for her independent spirit and courage to speak her mind regardless of party or media pressures,” said Chris Cargill, WPC’s Eastern Washington Director. “She’s exactly the kind of speaker that will make this year’s annual dinner event unforgettable. We are thrilled to bring her to Spokane, and I think people will be excited to hear her message.”

Washington Policy Center’s annual dinner events have been must-attend events for lawmakers, citizen activists, and business leaders across the state for more than twenty-five years. They are among the largest events of their kind and have attracted some of the nation’s most sought-after speakers.

WPC’s Eastern Washington Annual Dinner event will be September 16th in Spokane at the Davenport Grand Hotel, while WPC’s 2022 Western Washington annual dinner event will be held on October 14 at the Hyatt Regency in Bellevue.
