Day after day there is yet another headline from across the country of state officials prioritizing tax relief. Today’s news of major tax relief comes from the Golden State.
From a press release today by California's Governor:
"Starting tomorrow, $9.5 billion in Middle Class Tax Refund payments will begin going out to Californians, with refunds of up to $1,050 that will benefit millions of eligible Californians under the largest such program in state history…
‘We know it’s expensive right now, and California is putting money back into your pockets to help. We’re sending out refunds worth over a thousand dollars to help families pay for everything from groceries to gas,’ said Governor Newsom.”
As the leaves start to turn brown and the sky becomes gray, I find myself dreaming of the tax relief coming California’s way.
With other states across the country continuing to provide tax relief to help with inflation costs, it is past time for state officials to prioritize broad-based tax relief for Washingtonians.
